The Leonardo da Vinci Progamme describes the objectives of a transnational network as:

  • to share experience and foster innovation (new approaches) in vocational training by bringing together experts or organisations specialised in a particular field. The network can exist at regional level or in particular sectors of activity;
  • to identify trends and skills requirements in this area and improve the anticipated benefit of vocational training initiatives;
  • to publish the results of work undertaken by such transnational networks through the relevant channels so as to promote greater innovation and transnational co-operation in vocational training.

MISSION STATEMENT of the food-MAC project
To increase the level of dialogue between agro-food SMEs and consumers throughout a broader Europe by:

  • fostering a pro-active cooperative transnational network, including all the actors of the entire food chain, " from the fork to the fork" (which includes both ways "from the stable to the table", and "from the table to the stable"),
  • creating a sustainable Multi-Actor Collaboration (MAC) of different interest groups ( TQM, HSSE, ICT, innovation...),
  • giving equal access to information and cross dissemination to all sized companies,
  • providing preferences and requirements of consumers,
  • and identifying training needs as well as anticipation of future trends of the post-modern economy.
